Clippy’s Tree Pros LLC was built from the ground up—literally in the trees. For nearly three decades, the work has been hands-on, field-tested, and shaped by real-world experience across residential tree care in the Salem, Stayton, Sublimity, Mill City, and Santiam Canyon areas.
The foundation of Clippy’s Tree Pros began for the owner, Chad Clipfell, at age 16, when he started working full-time for a small local tree service in the Salem area. What began as a practical decision quickly became a lifelong profession rooted in hard work, hands-on learning, and a deep respect for trees and the people who live among them.

A Career Shaped in the Field
Before launching Clippy’s Tree Pros, Chad spent years working alongside experienced tree professionals, learning the craft from the ground up. He worked for multiple established tree companies, gaining exposure to a wide range of techniques, equipment, and approaches to residential tree care.
Chad also helped start another local tree service, serving as the lead climber for several years. That experience shaped a core belief that still defines Clippy’s Tree Pros today:
Tree care should be led by someone who can personally perform every part of the job—especially the most complex and dangerous work.
Being an active climber earned him the respect of the crews he worked with and gave him firsthand insight into tree structure, load balance, and risk that can only be gained in the canopy.
